For most people, music is just music. Something you listen to when you're bored, or when you wanna get pumped up or brought down. Music is so much for than that though. Music is an escape. There's nothing better than being in a chaotic room and closing your eyes and putting in headphones and then letting music flow through your ears. Everything else is immediately blocked out. Its like nothing else at that moment matters.
Music also has a huge effect on your mood. If you put on a really fast and upbeat song, odds are your mood will become the same! The same thing will happen if you but on a slow depressing song. Its more than just a few musical notes that you're hearing, there;s a whole psychological level behind music that most people don't even see.
I agree, music was probably the best thing ever invented. The different types can always change you mood no matter what.
ReplyDeleteDeep Lily! I agree with you, I need music to concentrate on my homework in my house.
ReplyDeleteLily, I completely understand and agree with part of your perspective on music. Personally, I can't use it to block out chaos. I find that music itself is too distracting while doing my homework or researching. All it does for me is lower the quality of my work and mess it up. On the other hand, I believe it affects mood too. While researching for my paper, one of my sources stated that a person's heart will beat simultaneously with the rhythm of the song. I've also noticed that specific music appeals to certain people; knowing what music people like lets me know about them as a person.
ReplyDeleteP.S Just happened to be listening to music when I was reading this
("Chipzel - Focus (Super Hexagon)")
That was very deep! I have never looked at music like that before, to me it was just music. Although it did either brighten my spirits or soothe me in certain situations.
ReplyDeleteI couldn't agree more. I personally am never not listening to music.
ReplyDeleteThe world would be so weird without music and I love how there are so many different types. If I I'm in a bad mood I just turn up my music and ignore the world.
ReplyDeleteGreat blog post and I completely agree! There's nothing better than listening to an upbeat song on a depressing day.
