Hurricane Issac...in some ways...I thank you...in other ways...not so much. You blessed Episcopal with not one, not two, but FOUR days off of school. I cant really say that I did anything amazing or interesting this week, mostly because im still grounded, which I have previously talked about. I did however have a relaxing afternoon spent in a room/attic connected to my room at my new house that we moved into about 4 weeks ago. The house has a tin roof which, as you can imagine, sounds absolutely incredible during a hurricane. It was so peaceful I decided to read a book that i found, The Daughters, by Joanna Philbin.
As I had my eyes glued to this spectacular book, the rain fell continously making an indistinguishable pitter patter on my roof. To my surprise, this sound is pleasant and peaceful. As my eyes glided from left to right on the page, time seemed to move even slower than on my worse days. I have learned to love hurricanes and the water the indirectly nourishes all things it pours down on. (for the less poetic audiences, I mean myself)
