Readers Response: If I Stay

This summer I read If I Stay by Gayle Forman. So you know what I am talking about, here is what happened in the book:
Mia and her family were in a car accident. Mia was the only one who survived the car accident and therefore went into a coma. Mia begins to watch her body as she is in a coma. She can see and hear everything that is going on around her, but no one knows.
From this book I learned that life is short and we all need to spend time with those who love us most. This can also apply to the teenage frame of mind or acronym "YOLO" because this phrase allows people to do what they really want, because they do not know when they will die.
I liked the idea that Mia could hear and see things while she was in a coma, but I did not like how the author made the beginning of this book very slow. I would recomend this book to everyone who can handle the tragedy of a car accident.

  1. Lily, your free post really catches your readers' attention and takes an interesting approach to your topic. Good work. Push yourself further on the reading response. Really develop your observations and think about why the author made the choices she did.
